Can someone explain what the difference might be between these two hard drives other than the obvious of one being 8Mb cache and the other 16Mb? One is the Caviar SE 250 Gb aajs 8Mb the other Cavair RE 250Gb YD 16 Mb both are Sata and the price is the same.Thanks

The 16mb chache makes the drive faster.

The RE means it's a special line. But you shouldn't really be considering either of those. The WD ****AAJS are the budget line and the RE editions have been replaced by RE2 and now RE3.

Thanks but I really don't think I need that big of a HD do you? I have been using a 120 Gb in my present system the last three years, and it still shows 100Gb free.Not even sure if I can use the ddr2 800 pc2 6400 memory with this cpu.
