Hard Drives Problem

I have a WD80 gig and a seagate 8 gig(recently it was hooked to my older computer cos i needed it for backup)

Anyway - when i tried to use the WD with the seagate on my new computer, it would continue beeping (not the usual short beep - more elongated). I am positive the jumper settings were placed correctly and that the ide cable is not faulty. I have a 250w power supply. Can it be that the redeon 9700 is sucking up all the power? (i have a P3 1ghz, 256PC133, Teac 40x12x48, Samsung 12x, and a floppy - obviously)

Thanks

are u connecting them w/ the same ide cable? Try to put one on the primary and the other one on the secondary and see if u can boot up w/o probs.

Don't think so. When i unhooked the seagate hd the beeping sound kept sounding. Then I fiddled a bitwith the wires and it worked. I think maybe when i placed it in the rack i may have touched something. I'll try again sometime - nowhere soon though.
