since it's connected to two different IDE controller.
Both of them can be a master.

Anyway if you still want to make one of them slave, you can change the jumper in the HD.
it's in manual or the sticker on top of the HD usually have a drawing of jumper setup.

they're both on different controllers, right? One's on the mobo controller and one's on a separate pci controller? Set 'em both to master and you're fine.

so i gotta install my OSback on them?
and how would i do it?
like im gonna get my card tomorow im presuming, so i jus plug it in, and install windows on it or sumthin?
well thanks for hteadvice
appreciate it!

if they are on seperate controllers (one MB, one PCI card) both should be set to "master", make sure the jumpers are set correctly on the back of the drive,
(plastic sqaure things) If you don't already have an OS on your computer, then you'll have to install one

No, you only need to have your OS installed on one of your two drives (both set as master) Because only one of these drives is bootable.
Are both of these drives installed in your PC? The best way to configure your Hard Drives, If your PCI IDE controller (hopefully ATA100)card has Two channels on it, attach to channel One, your ATA100 (hopefully 7200rpm) set as Master, using one of your two ATA100 IDE cables. Attach your ATA66 (most likley 5400rpm) set as Master to channel two, on the controller card.
Your Fastest Drive should be bootable, and the bootable drive is where you OS should be installed. Use FDISK to. best thing to do now is to go to PC Guide www.pcguide.com lots of information there to preparing HD.

Hope this helps
