There is something about this hard drive that i want to bring into notice to people in the forum who are more knowledgeable than me. Let me first specify my sys.

primary slave : 13 GB, UDMA66, 5400 seagate

okay here is the probs. if i enable UDMA mode in bios bench mark test (dr hardware 2000) shows the hard drive read/write speed is as good as UDMA 66 hard drives. where as if i enable UDMA 66 the speed becomes much faster than a normal UDMA 66 hard drive (max read speed 23.3 mbps compared to 12.9 for UDMA 66 and max write speed 51.2 Mbps compred to 12.8 mbps for normal UDMA 66 drives). But the system becomes unstable and it hangs once in a while writing to Disk (not while trying to read). And if i reset the bios fails to detect both the hard drive. I have to power it down and then switch the power on in order to detect the hard drive by bios. Any idea what is going on here? i am sure some of you have definite answer to this.. and i don't think its a power supply problem because I have 300 w power supply..AMD approved and i checked with other power supply also same thing.

Are you overclocking your FSB? That could be the problem if you are.
