Hard drive too big for BIOS?

I am setting up a Linux file server after getting a 200GB Barracuda. However, the bios on my socket 7 ASUS P5A MB doesn't recognize drives over 130GB. Will a PCI IDE card work around this?

If a BIOS update doesn't fix this issue you will need a new controller card that does support 48-Bit Addressing. This is already assuming that your Linux distro supports 48-Bit Addressing.

Yes a promise ata-100 or the ata-133 version should work. It's what comes with retail 200 GB WD drives.

Check with someone who knows Linux better than I. I'm a linux-idiot but if I remember right "Linux will see the whole drive". It appears Linux does not care what the bios reports it will use it all.
