Incredible thread. I've already used it a week or two ago to get a hdd for someone and looks like I'll be using it again this week. Keep up the insane great work.

I love how it's updated so often. Thank you, albrandwood and all those that contribute!
I'm currently looking for a good deal on 160gb, but I'll accept WD 120gb for <= 60

Be wary of the Outpost.com deal for the 160GB WD drive. Their website says it is the retail package which comes with an ATA adaptor card but what they are shipping does NOT come with the adaptor.

Just wanted to give allbrandwood a pat on the back. Good to know that it is not typed out ...and i guess you are reading off a txt file to insert data into your database. Great work.

Nope ... I now have a webpage I use for data-entry ... (still a little buggy, but almost sorted out)

@shley

I just picked up a WD 120 gb 8mb cache from BestBuy for $54.99.

Price: $149.99
Coupon: $15 (10%) - coupon was mailed in a flyer to my brother
Rebate: $50
Rebate: $30
-----------------
Total: $54.99

I was lucky to find one as today was the last day for the rebates and there was only one drive left on the shelf.

Thanks for the great thread!

WOW .. impressive list 🙂
I just bought one Maxtor 200GB HDD 7200RPM 8MB Cache from iocombo for $165 with $5 and I thought it was a good deal already link 🙂 silly me 🙂

Added ... thx ... (OD wasn't updated before 3am EST ... neither was CC :-(

@shley

just called circuit city in huntington beach and went to the one in costa mesa, apparently there was a mistake on their website, only one $70 rebate, so it comes out to $180 ($250-$70mir).

Anybody see a deal on laptop drives, my Archos needs a 80 GB 08K0635, and best I've seen is like $195 plus tax and shipping

Ok, it is Black Friday, but what are the best ONLINE deals for drives right now for those of us who want to avoid lines?

yeah, too bad it is sold out
.....only online.

I checked the closest store to me (30 min away) and they had 12 in stock.
When I got there you had to have someone get it for you in the back room. They didn't have them in the usual locked glass case. It's pretty easy to check stock via phone or the net.

I grabbed one for $138.76 with a $30 rebate.
These only have a one year warranty, but I dont want to spend $250+tax at Circuit City, and wait for $150 in rebates on the Western Digital.

108.76 / 200gb = $0.54 per gb
Pretty Hott I think.....

Circuit City in Lafayette, IN still has two WD 200GB SE HDD. (8MB, 3 year warranty)
One has the ATA133 card, one doesn't. (one w/o card doesn't mention 3 year warranty, either)

$99 after $150 in rebates.
