Hard Drive Thread (DEAD)

Guys and Gals ...

Due to various reasons (including increase in work commitments, and the fliers no longer being delivered) I'm going to have to stop these lists ... I appreciate the help I've been given in maintaining these lists.

Thanks

@shley

Allbrandwood, welcome to AT! Nice list, it probably took a lot of work 🙂

I think highlights include the Seagate 120GB/8MB for $59.99 and the external firewire 60GB for 49.99.

300GB ? ? Dear god! That is insane!
I have two 80GB drives and I am constantly pruning them! I dont know what I would do with a couple of 300GB drives!

good post, but it would be cool if the price per gig was right next to it for people who want the most for their money.

i have a 160 and a 80gb now and it's almost full.

I might have to upgrade to them 2x250gb

Very nice post 😀. What do you guys use such large drives for? Is it video capture, mp3's, divx avi's or what?

Another good deal is the Maxtor 160GB Hard drive 7200rpm 8MB cache model #L01P160 at Office Depot

for $149.99 -$30 Maxtor rebate -$10 Maxtor rebate(click through the rebate link to see the 2nd rebate) -$20 off $100 coupn code = $89.99 with free shipping

Looks to be a good deal..

One box has dual 120s in stripe for capturing video.
One has dual 120s in Mirror for mp3/music video server.
one has 4 x 200s and 2 x 120s for video storage.
one has dual 80s for games.
And those are only the boxes I have currently running in my room.
not to mention what I *could* do with an Xbox, PS2, Tivo, PVR,
dumb terminals throughout the house, move Tivo storage,
self made Tivo, music jukebox, video survellance ....
the list goes on and on...

Nice post, but may be difficult keeping current with all the HD deals.

Some links won't function since the sites time out such as BB.

The Cusa logisys external pricing is $65 mir, not $35. Noticed this since BB was selling same items @ $149, and my pm instincts flared up ;(

Have the same Acomdata External Firewire, mine was 40GB and a Deskstar (purchased for $38 AR)

3x120 for digital video. 1 hr of DV =approx. 15GB, so a full wedding with 3 cameras, interviews, etc. usually consumes about 75GB.
