What time do CompUSA put the sale items on their web site?

Midnight Eastern Time? Midnight Pacific Time? First thing in the morning?

What timezone is used in the time on the receipts from the ONLINE store ?

Can anyone on the list comment as to the quality of the WDC drives on sale this week, compared to the Seagate drives that seemed to have been on sale quite a bit recently? I had been trying to loosly follow the prices and it seemed there were often some great prices on the Seagate 8meg drives - quiet, reliable, etc. Well, wouldn't you know it. My old Maxtor 120gig failed last nite. I can't get it to do anything. And then of course, right when I need one, there are no Seagate's on sale. Is it worth waiting until next week to see what's on sale?

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys may have. I'm not looking for 100% superior performance, no RAID or anything. I just want a quiet, reliable drive.

Aaron

Bump for a great thread.

PS My WD 160GB drive from CompUSA just arrived. They also have a warm APC UPS deal (it may or may not be sold out by now).

Doh, why couldnt it be a 200GB WD, I need another one to complete my RAID.

thanks again for the killer post (we gotta keep those rebate centers busy, so the can screw up and overlap 🙂

remember, OM removed decent offers from their website ... so you have to go to their store, and waste time looking around, when you know they went OOS at 10:00 am on the Sunday ........

check out this post, WD 250GB 8meg = $130 AR, free shipping.

must go thru small business

they have 20% off the drive + a $70 MIR + free shipping

$249.95-20%=$199.96 - $70= 129.96!

Don't forget the seagate 7200.7 200gb drive at Mwave for $127, a great price for a drive that's <1/4 as loud as competing models.
