hard drive switch

i have a dell 8400 computer. i want to put in two sata hard drives and be able to power down and switch back and forth. i'm not concerned with looks--drives can sit outside the computer for all i care. has anybody seen such a product?

2 - eSATA external enclosures and a SATA-to-eSATA "hanger" to move a motherboard SATA port to a card slot bracket. (Search Newegg.com)

If this is just to dual boot, v-com.com "System Commander" OS Selector software would work.

get your self a double pole, double throw toggle switch and put it in the power cables. one way drive "A" would have power only and the other way only drive "B" would have power and all you have to do is drill a small hole and mount a switch.. that is what I would do for a 2 dollar fix.

Get a SATA mobile rack and an extra caddy. You install the mobile rack to an optical drive bay and you can switch the 2 HD easily. I used to do this with my IDE HDs in the old system.

all good suggestions, thx, everybody. i'll prob go with the swappable caddies since it seems the easiest (being lazy, no time for fun mods).

Hot swap SATA is not necessarilya shoo-in. Some SATA drives aren't up to it. Some mobos aren't up to it. And some mobile drive racks arent't up to it. All the planets must be in alignment for it to work well.
