i recently upgraded my computer to the new gigabyte 8sq800 ultra its all going great bar the h-d (a seagate st380023a) i only seem to be getting about 3.5 mb/s read and write speeds its set up as the master my old quantum fireball is the slave and still gets about 20.0 mb/s read and write speeds
why is the seagate so slow is there some setting in the bios i need to fix
any help please
😱🙁😕

Put the HD's on different IDE channels. eg. Put your Seagate as the Primary master, and then put your CD rom as the Primary Slave. Take the Quantum Fireball, and put it as Secondary Master or Slave, up to you, and then Another IDE device on that channel

If you have both HD's on the same channel and are transferring data, then it causes conflicts. Also make sure the cables are ok, should be since I am sure new cables came with the mobo.

Also check your bios in the boot settings and make sure it is detecting the HD's right. I'm sure it is, because you are able to use them, just doublecheck to make sure. Don't forget to set your jumpers right on the back of the HD's.

Hope that helps ya!
