I've used those programs that destroy all of the data on your harddrive when you format it, by overwriting everything with random data OR by zeroing everything.

now, is there a program that can zero all of the blank areas on your drive? So it will obliterate all of my 'deleted' data?

I don't have anything seriously bad on my harddrive, just alot of financial information i'd like to keep from being recovered.

any other drive utilities you can recomend?

Windows2000 Professional and Windows XP Professional also have the cipher command. Start > Run > cipher.exe /w:C:\ overwrites all blank space on drive C:\ with three layers of EFS-encrypted junk, then deletes it. You can run this in the background while doing stuff with your computer.

Note that there's no spaces in the /w:C:\ part.

what about low level format? this kind of formating can erase all the staff on the drive and there is no any way to recover(restore) it. you can try this tool hdd low level format:
