Ok first off how importants is the buffer is it worth spending a few extra bucks to get a 8mb buffer or am I better off gettign one with a 2mb buffer and using the extra money for somthign else? ok next how dose the seek time apply it self to acual use of the hard drive? And what is a respectable seektime? and lastly wich of these hard drives would you recommend? (As long as its not louder than six 80mm fans I dont care)

the Western Digital WD1200JB

the Maxtor 120GB 6Y120L0 Diamond Max Plus 9

or the Seagate 120GB ST3120026A Barracuda 7200.7

Most drives has about 8.9 ms seek time. That should be enough. I would go for the seagate. At least they have 5 years warranty now. 8Mb buffer ofcourse, it is worth it. Besides, there is not that much different in price.

Definitely 8MB buffer. WDs and Seagates are generally your best bets for hard drives. (And FYI, you can get the 160 GB version of the WD you linked to for a little less on Newegg than what you have listed on Outpost.)
