hard drive question

kept the old 60 gig hd from my last comp and put it in the one im on now...just moved several gigs of files to it to free up some space on my c drive to hopefully speed up things like cs 2, etc....the c drive still shows the same amount of space and the files still show to be there ??? can i safely delete the files on the c drive now ??

As long as the other hard drive you moved your stuff onto has a significant amount of GB filled, and you don't want to back it up any further than you already have.... Yes.

Easier way to do what? Once you verified all the files you want are on the 2nd drive, just highlight them, Right Click and Delete them. It sounds like you did a copy/paste rather than cut/paste which is why they're still on your C drive. On the other hand, copy/paste and then delete the moved files is the safest way to do it.
