Hard drive question (partitions)

Ok here is my question: I have my HD split into 2 partitions (C,D). I want to format my c partition and re-install windows. What is that going to do to my other partion? (D) I have a lot of MP3's plus other programs installed on D (games and things..) Now if I format C will I have to re-install all the programs on D??? Thanks for any help

well I dont really have anything that I can make backups on....so that could be a problem... I guess I could barrow my friends external zip drive.

All your data that is in D should be fine, but you have to reinstall all your program eventhough it is still in D but your registry setting are gone.

Well if you are not worried about backups just format C and see what happens 🙂

nothing...but if you repartition you will lose the stuff on D...just boot from a floppy and format C:...adn then reinstall win...should be no trouble...as for your game folders on D...reinstalling may over right these...i think i would back them up if you can or install the game over toa new folder copy the saved files to the new installation then delete the old folder after you are sure it took
