trying to figure out what's the better of the two?
apparently i read somewhere that hd's with more space create more heat or tend to have more problems?
so im torn between a 200 or 250 gig hd...any input would be appreciated thanks.
western digital by the way w/8mb buffer

Heat depends on manufacturer and arial density.

A 3 platter 200GB drive with ~70GB platters would most likely run hotter than a 2 platter 200-250GB model.

If you're concerned about heat, check out the Seagate 7200.8 series.

im confused here...you're saying get the seagate 8series, which is a bit louder/hotter than the 7/s?
currently on my friends computer, she has 50gigs partitioned. that's it.
so considering getting a whole new 200/250 gigger and giving her more room.
dont think platters are a concern YET lol Thanks mojo
