Hard Drive Problem

I have an Ultrastar SCSI HD running on a 2940UW and it doesn't boot up into Windows XP anymore. It's like is a formatted drive or something.

I hooked another drive I have as the master and this Ultrastar as the slave. I was able to get into XP and it recognizes the Ultrastar but nothing shows up on the drive; again it's like it's formatted.

What happened and what's the best way to extract all of the data from the Ultrastar and copy it to another drive?

Ttry some recovery software. If it can't find anything the the drive had a serious crash.
