Hard Drive Problem

Hello,

I have a 80GB WD JB hard drive that is just out of warranty.
It's quiet and works pretty well, but when I start the PC up in the mornings sometimes it will get to the Windows screen and I hear something that sounds like the hard drive turning off then right back on and it will cause the PC to reboot.

I've had the drive in another PC a few weeks ago and it was doing the same thing. I thought it was just the older PC, but when I moved it into the newer PC it is doing the same thing.

It usually only happens one time when the PC is first started, and then it runs fine once the PC has warmed up.

Is there anyway to fix it?

thanks

Oh I didn't read what you wrote correctly the first time. I thought you said it was nearing the end of it's warranty. I don't know how I got that, I guess I skim way too much.

In any case, I don't blieve that it is really possible to fix this. Since it's out of warranty I would get a new HD and copy the data off of that HD onto the new one then keep this old failing one just incase you have a problem with the new one.
