hard drive preperation......

I am going to be transfering my hard drive from the old computer to my new one that I am going to build before I transfer it do I have to format it? or something?
 
depends on what o/s you have running on it. if it's some version of windows, i'd be careful. if the hardware is different, windows may have a fit 🙂 of course, make a good backup before doing anything.
 

backup your sensible data to another drive/partition and then format C: and do a clean install.
A clean install in my eyes is important if you don't want to run in trouble with drivers and previously installed software. And then you could be sure that your system runs stable and fast.
 
yeah ok thanks! I guess I will back up all my important stuff then format my drive and then install it inot the new pc 🙂
