Hard Drive Not Recognized....Requires Format

Windows just suddenly stopped recognizing one of my hard drives today. It is a Western Digital 200GB drive and I have it almost full of data. The bios recognizes it and the drive name is displayed in my computer but when I try to access it, a popup message appear that says the hard drive is not formatted, and do you want to format the hard drive.

I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the drive in case of a loose cable, but it's not that. I tried Ontrack's recovery software fix it utilities but the drive is not recognized in there.

Any help is appreciated very much. Thanks!!!!

Try it on a different channel, and try different configs - ie. try to hook it up as a slave drive instead of master. Also, make sure your jumpers are in the proper positions. As a last resort you could try detecting it as a slave drive on another system entirely.

what are you using to access it? My computer? try using an internet exploere; e.g. IE, FireFox, real player...
