Question Hard drive magnets

instinct

Junior Member
How strong would you say hhd magnets are rated ?? And where can I get a slightly stronger one to use for a key fob so I don't have to carry the key or keep pulling it out of my pocket every 30 seconds ... Instead it's hanging safely (strong enough to not wiggle loose or fall off unexpectedly but when I want it off just a nice little pull and good to go??

Anyone?

The only way that would work would be to use a piece of plastic to cover the magnet so that no direct contact is made, and limiting the amount of steel that it is pulling on. I think it could work if you did both.

You can buy these things from security specializing shops.
Search google for magnet keychain.
