hard drive issue

i recently bought 2 74 gig raptors and raided them to 0. before i had the raptors, i had a 80 and 120 gig WD IDE hard drive. i've setup my raid and installed windows, without the two IDE drive connected. i just tried to connect my 80 gig hard drive and "My Computer" will not show the second drive, the funny thing is, my bios detects it and so does my hardware device manager. any suggestions on why "My Computer" wil not show the drive(have not connected the 120 gig drive yet)

Did you have a non-windows operating system running on it and thus it was formatted in something other than FAT32 or NTFS? Are your IDE channels enabled in the BIOS?

What is the jumper set to on the Hard Drive, if it is set to slave and it is the only drive on the chain it may be causing issues that way.

what kinda a mobo you are using ?

If it's set to slave and it is the only drive on the IDE channel then that is most likely your issue, reset the jumper to master or single drive and it should work.

The jumpers on the IDE were set from their previous setup, i failed to reapply them the way i wanted them to be. Now the 80 gig IDE is set as the master and the 120 as the slave, still no sign in "my computer" but both drives are detected in my Device manager

Do you see them in the Disk Management Window? Right click on "My Computer" and select Manage, then click on Disk Management under Storage. If you see the drives their try formatting them again there and assign drive letters, if you don't see them it could be a problem with the IDE channels on the motherboard or a BIOS setting.
