Okay, here's my problem, I just got a new HD [Maxtor 120GB] and want to replace my current HD [Maxtor 40GB] w/ it. I used the supplied MaxBlast s/w to format and partition the new drive but when it copied all my info from my old drive, it didn't make an "exact" copy, it changed everything to drive C, when my current HD, which is my primary drive isn't C 😕 Does anyone know of any freeware application that would do the HD copy w/out changing drive letters? Thanks in advance 🙂

your post is a little confusing..you slaved the new 120 to the 40..correct...once you use the Maxtor wizard you should only have to shutdown..change Master/Slave orientation...new 120GB as Master on the primary IDE ..reboot..new 120 drive should show as C..oh..reread..so it is showing as C... here you go

Thanks ScrapSilicon, but according to the info in that MSKB article, that won't help my situation. 🙁
