The warranty on the original drive is 5 years. I had it about 2 years so it has at least 3 years left on the warranty.

I just wander if it has something to do with sending the bad drive back to them.

it takes time for them to update the warranty length for the new drive.

it took about a month for me.

i had my 150gb raptor die. sent in for replacement... get brand new velociraptor after a week or so. check warranty on velociraptor, 5 years. i only had 3 years left on my raptor's warranty.

check warranty later, it's been updated to 3 years.

so it just takes time.

I found out what the deal is. When they ship out a replacement drive, they put a 90 day warranty on it. Once they receive the defective drive, they will apply the remaining warranty of that drive to the new drive.
