Hard drive failure?

I started my laptop and it went to the Windows boot screen, but it stays stuck there and the HDD light stays lit. This is an Adata SSD that is only a few years old. If I use PartedMagic, can I restore life back into it?

How can I test the drive using a SATA to USB adapter? Obviously, I can't boot the HDD in the computer otherwise I would test there. So I'm down to using a SATA to USB adapter.

Just looked in the manual (I have SU800 drives) and it says it supports physical interface only, so I'm not sure about the USB to SATA.

No, that will more than likely not work.

You can check the health of your SSD using Crystal Disk Info. This will also work with an USB adapter.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if Crystal would work, but I'll try it providing the HDD is accessible. Will see.
