Hard Drive Failure

Alright, I am officially nervous.
I just completed a clean install of XP Pro. Here is my drive structure:

IDE0 Chan 1 - WD1200JB (Sys Drive)
IDE0 Chan 2 - Hitachi 160GB Drive

SATA0 - 80GB Maxtor

The WD drive showed up fine, and I formatted the entire thing because I'm going to change my program structure. The Hitachi is the drive I'm using as my "backup"-where everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING is in storage. The drive, right now, shows as unformatted space. Is there any way to get the OS to recognize the drive...or am I FUBAR? Anyone who can solve this problem is forever in my debt.

Uh, did you apply SP1a before hooking up your 160gb hd? It's supposed to have support for hd sizes >137gb.
If not, you may have corrupted your partition table for the 160gb. I'd try using something like OnTrack Easy Recovery Pro to rebuild the partition table in that case.

>>I did apply SP1a, the drive shows up in Disk Manager as "Unformatted" (or something along those lines). How much does Ontrack Recovery Pro Cost? Are there similar *free* programs avaialble?
