I have been trying to install Windows XP on a new machine using an old HD. After the initial setup the comp reboots and then gives a Error Loading Operating system error.
I looked up on google how to fix it and I did find something that works. In the Bios I changed Auto to CHS and manually typed these settings:
1024
16
Sectors: 63
After entering these values the computer is able to start the rest of Windows XP install, but if I change it back to auto I get the same error.
My question is can I install windows XP using these hard drive settings? Anyone have a more permanent fix for this?
