Hey would someone be able to tell me if a hard drive disk image would be the right course of action in reference to my problems : XP has a DrWatson error, causes anything that I right click on to freeze up, i've tried to repair XP and it seemed to work, till I installed SP:2, but If I wanted to format my whole drive, would a hard drive disk image, save whats in the registry? I keep most of my programs on my slave drive, would should be unaffected by the format. I don't know alot about HDD Images, but give me your opinions of what I should do. Thanks in advance.

Huh?

Why would you need or use a disk image if you're going to reformat? Reimaging would put it back to the way it was before you formatted it. 😕

Did you try a Repair Installation (boot from the CD like you're going to install Windows, and when it detects the existing installation and asks if you want to reformat and install over it, tell it to do a Repair Installation instead)? That usually fixes weird registry-related problems.

Beyond that, you'd have to provide more information about the problem. Did you look in the WinXP Knowledge Base on www.microsoft.com?

I've been searchin around for info on it, I did briefly check out microsoft, though I hate their site, and I did do that, which fixed the problem, temporairily, but when I installed SP:2 back on, it either came back or I did something that, caused the problem to happen again.
