Okay i was just browsin normally, then I noticed my browsing started to get really chunky (i have my temp. net files on my 2nd hard drive) but I didnt think much of it. Then all of a sudden i hear these funny noises, but I didnt think much of it since i just got a new cd-rom and i assumed it was probally just spooling up or something. But then i get a memory dump in win2k, and when i reboot, my 2nd hd was not detected. I assumed it was probally toast, but I restarted again, and this time it was back. What could be the problem? I dont think its my PS, cuz its a 400W Antec one. Is my HDD dying on me? Should I send it in? Because i keep all my personal files, downloads, etc on it, and use my C: drive for programs. So I dont want it to die on me unexpectedly.

Check your IDE & power cables and scan your system for viruses. I'd also backup any important stuff you have as fast as possible.

What HD do you have? 75GXP? if so, that model line is known to have funny quirks about it. consider upgrading to an 60GXP..........

It may be ok, but take precautions and treat it as if it is about to die. Backup 🙂

Even if it doesnt die, you will be pleased of the backup someday...
