Hard Drive Data Recovery Companies

Can someone suggest some companies for hard drive data recovery? We lost a computer with important information on it. The hard drive was formatted and Windows reinstalled. I understand that it may be possible to still recover those files that we lost if we get the drive in the right hands.

Any suggestions or success stories?

I got a quote of $95 for evaluation and $300-$1800 for recovery from Data Recovery Group
Does that seem reasonable?

Wow... there used to be a place not too far from me that did that but no longer.

Anyway expect to pay A LOT, is that data really that valueable? I think that place charged $500 per GB when they did it.
