Hard drive boot question (PC testing)

I have a home computer with a mysterious illness LOL. Im trying to scertain if the drive is good. Windows Scandisk and Acronis health monitor say its good. However, if I try to boot A DIFFERENT machine off the drive it wont do it.

In other words, I take the drive out of machine A and put it in machine B via a usb kit. Change the BIOS to boot from the USB device, windows starts, but will not boot.

Thanks for any help.

Gosh this can be many things. the USB stick is the culprit something is up with that. Or your imporperly setting in BIOS.. boot off the drive that has your OS and has booted before.. also tell us system specs fill those in .. so we can help you more.. thx and gb

You can't do that unless the machines are identical with the same chipset.

As you have done, boot Machine B normally and then run HDD diagnostic software on the drive from Machine A. Or, leave the HDD in A and boot with a diagnostic CD.
