Hard Disk question. Is that possible to have bad sectors on Hdd for just using it about 6 months???

Hi guys, I need more help again on this... I just called Maxtor in Singapore and they told me that I would get replacement but not a brand new one. They would give me the refurbish one. I told them that in USA, I would get a new one cause it's still under the warranty. So can someone confirm me if that is true? I am so disappointed if they give me the refurbish one instead of the brand new one. Thanks guys...

I have a 20.1 GB Maxtor that is giving me troubles at home now. It has just developed bad sectors. I am going to go home and try that software so I can RMA it. Been fighting this damn drive for about a week now. Thanks all.

20.1 went bad... Nooooooooooooo way! I had two die on me one right out of the box the other lasted 2 days! And sorry no you don't get a "new" drive it is a referb!
