Hard Disk Problem

I just took a hard drive out of an old computer and plugged it into my new one. It took a lot of twisting and pulling to do it, and I actually needed pliers for the power connector. When I plugged the hard drive back into the old computer, I got a "Insert system diskette and press Enter key to reboot" message. I unplugged all the other IDE devices and tried the hard drive on all the channels and couldn't get it to work. Is there anything I can try, or did I damage something?

Does it spool up? Did you plug it back into the same spot on the IDE cable? Same power connector?

It might spool up, it's pretty quiet if it does. I tried all the IDE connectors.
