Hard Disk Diagnostic Utility for Mac

Can anyone recommend a hard disk software to scan my drive for errors and to see if the disk is working well? Thanks.

I'd recommend Micromat's Tech Tool Pro (http://www.micromat.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=202&Itemid=107). A little pricey (if I remember correctly), but definitely worth it. I've used its cousin Tech Tool Deluxe as a part of AppleCare and I've had no complaints.

I'll second Tech Tool Pro. I use it and run it about once a month. It found one bad sector on my hard drive.

Disk Utility from the OS X install disc #1? Or the free HDT (Hardware Diagnostic Test) from the OS X install disc #2?

Don't know much about them, but they're supposed to check your hard drive and other components of your system.
