EVERYTIME I booted my PC, the 2 hard disks on my PC cannot be detected. I have to enter BIOS, then do NOTHING but WAIT for about 2 to 3 minutes. Then suddenly they're detected. How come it can't be detected on bootup?

One of my hard disks had a slight problem. A pin behind is bent. I was wondering if this is the source of the problem.......

In case you need to know, I have a Pentium III 733 MHZ CPU, 128 MB SDRAM, motherboard is Asus CUSL2-C.

Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

PS: I set both the Primary Master and Slave to "Auto"...........

Just a thought: In some BIOS' there's an option like "Time to wait for IDE spinup" in seconds - you may want to try changing that.

Another thought: Are the drives actually jumpered for Master and Slave? Or are they jumpered for Cable Select? That second option could generate a problem like you've described.
