My rig has 2 7k250s in a RAID0 configuration. One of these drives is generating a SMART event that could be the beginning of the end of the drive. In an attempt to backup data from the RAID array, I'm moving files to a 40 GB Maxtor.
Problem:
I have a 12 GB AVI file that was captured from a camcorder that I'm trying to copy to the 40 GB Maxtor. After copying 95%, the process stops with a warning that there isnt enough free space on the drive. The same error is popping up for a 6+ GB AVI file as well. What gives? Anyone?
I just want to move the precious AVI (of my infant) to the other drive before the RAID array gives up on me. If all else fails, I'll have to take the risk of converting these files to MPG and then back them up on DVDs - a time consuming process I may not have the chance to finish. Currently, there's 127 GB of free space on the RAID array and after I successfully moved other, smaller files, there's 16.8 GB on the Maxtor IDE.
Please Help!
