Hard Decision

Okay im in a fix I am upgrading my computer anf I pretty much know what I want to get. It either will be:

ASUS A8N-E nForce4 ultra
Western Digital Caviar SE 250GB SATA HD
EVGA 7800GT 256MB PCI-E or PowerColor X1900XT 512MB <--- Torn
Antec Smartpower 2.0 500w PSU
ZAlman CNPS9500
SAmSung 997mb 19" CRT <----- Won't get if I get the X1900XT

so I either get a 7800GT and a monitor or a Really fast shiny GPU. This is a hard decison and any thought will be apreciated.

EDIT: I also could get rid of the Hard Drive and get the monitor..

What monitor are you using at the moment? That CRT is going to run at 1600x1200 which is starting to push the 7800GT (you'll have to stop using full eyecandy fairly soon) but it'll still look utterly stunning.

The monitor is the bit you spend hours staring into, i'd get that and be happy.

Of course if you can hold off on the HD for a while and get the monitor with the 1900XT then you're laughing.

I using a Proview 17" Flat CRT.. Its showing its age but I still could get a couple more years out of it. Yes it recommends 1600x1200 as defualt but you don't have to run it at that.

Laughing no.... Hyperventilating yes.

I'm afraid i'm going to have to cop out on you here, if you can wait to get a new HD then i'd go with the 1900XT and the CRT.

If not then it's up to you, with my choice leaning towards the 1900XT.
