if you buy either one, you'll probably be the only person on these boards who owns one

First off, if you want gaming, the Voodoo will be better by virtue of its A64 anyway. Second, I have heard that ALienware's support is mediocre at best and so is their performance. IIRC, I read that even with all of Alienware's "customizations," the performance was barely on par with other brands. I personally don't think either laptop is worth that much money. For only a Radeon 9700??? Wait for the GeForceGo 6800 or Mobility Radeon X800 before you drop that damn much money

I'd go for the ABS' Mayhem G3 which has the same specs for about a thousand dollars cheaper. That or the Alienware.

With Alienware and Voodoo you're paying more for the brand than anything else.

Personally I've got the emachines M6811 Athlon XP 3400/ATI 9600 Mobility (OC'ed) with a Hitachi 7200 HD and a Gig of ram seperate upgrades all for about 1400 and it works pretty damn well.
