We have something most Indians and many Chinese don't.

a report ahead of the World Toilet Day 2017, to be observed on Sunday (November 19), says that 732 million Indians have no access to toilets or clean toilets and are thus forced to defecate in the open. India, the world's second-largest country by population, has the highest number of people without basic sanitation, according to the report.

According to the report, after India, China, the world's most populous country, comes in second, with 343 million people without decent toilets.

Toilets are something we often take for granted. Even outhouses at camps are better than what some countries have. It makes for a private place to poop and pee without having to worry about manually disposing of the deed. it also prevents diseases by reducing our exposure to it.

what i don't understand is why they don't have outhouses or similar

even before toilets were a 'thing' in the US, relatively few people had to go in a field
