I certainly don't say "The 2nd of August, 2011" (2/8/2011) I say "August 2nd, 2011" (8/2/2011). European dates are asinine from a spoken perspective.

😵 I say "the 2nd of August, 2011". As in "I'll come and see you on the 2nd of August, 2011" it sounds better than "I'll come see you August 2nd, 2011".
