the first long weekend to unofficially kick off summer partying.

unfortunately, its going to rain here all weekend long. I was looking forward to some cool fireworks displays. Oh, well.

I didn't bother to get any beer. But I did get some nice 12 year old rum (Appleton Estate Extra) and some nice vodka (Belvedere) for when guests arrive.

I will be making homemade panzarotti for supper today.

happy Victoria Day everybody!!

 cheers!!!

I love the long weekend but I hate all the damn cottagers that drive up to my area, it makes driving around impossible because it is so busy.

Thanks for mentioning the panzarotti! I'm familiar with calzones but, did not know about panzarotti. Now I have something new to play with.

Wiki mentioned they were deep fried. I've never deep fried a calzone.

they come either deep fried or baked.

I prefer baked as deep frying makes things greasy.

I love them at Tony's Pizza here. Just over a foot long and 6 inches high, filled with lots of cheese and meat and veggies. Its a nice treat.

To bad it's not Victoria Secrets Day. 😀

I originally read the thread title as Victoria's Secret Day. 🙁

I was very disappointed once I completely woke up and read it again. 😛

Happy Victoria Day to our Canadian brothers and sisters.🙂

So this is like Canada's Memorial Day?

Have a great long weekend up there! 🙂
no. We only have Remembrance Day, November 11.

Victoria Day is a British holdover from colonial days.

Victoria Day is the best, because it falls right in the middle of the playoffs.

And I do mean THE playoffs, the only ones that matter.
