Looking to build a new PC for the first time in a few years...I already have a case. I plan on doing some gaming (Empire Total War, some COD, some WoW) Here is what I am thinking of getting:

Hard Drive = Hitachi 1TB SATA drive = $119.99 - $30.00 MIR, = $89.99

DVD Burner = Cheap Samsung burner = $24.99

Video Card = EVGA GTX 260 896MB = $219.99

Power Supply = Thermaltake 500W = $54.99 - $40.00 MIR = $14.99

RAM = 4 gigs of Corsair DDR2 800 = $54.99 -$30.00 MIR = $24.99

Mobo/CPU Combo Deal = Asus P5Q SE PLUS P45 + Intel Core2 Duo E7300 2.66 = $196.98 - $15 MIR = $181.98

Shipping = $8.97
Grand Total = $680.90
Grand Total after MIR = $565.90

Thoughts? :p

*edit*

The main question I have is with my RAM. I plan on doing some minor OC'ing at some point, am I strangling myself with PC800 instead of 1066?

Me personally, I would go with a different PSU. That Thermaltake doesn't have features that others in it's price range has. It's efficiency is lower than others and doesn't have Active PFC. If you really don't want to spend much money, get one of these quality ones that's recommended in the sticky.

The RAM will be more than enough for minor overclocking. The E7300 doesn't even come close to maxing it out at stock speeds. You will have good room for minor oc'ing.

I like seagate harddrives and Lite-on DVD Drives. Dont know what other people think. That is what I am using now. I have an E7200 and it is a nice processor, so the E7300 should be pretty good.

This is just my opinion. I only build one computer every 3 - 6 years.
