should be done in another hour and i can go to bed, wake up early and make lasagna.

Whoopiee!!

Fsck it the 14 lbsr. has been defrosting for two days in the fridge. I am going to put it in some cold water and go to sleep. I doubt I'll catch anything, and if I do, it has been a wonderful life.

Well, I am not a bacteria expert, but I worked in restaurants for years.

And every time they needed to defrost something in a hurry, they put it in the sink and ran cold water over it.

No one died.

I'm not saying that it will necessarily kill you, but certain instances of foodborne illness will make you wish you were dead.😛

I don't know that we'll be having anything special. My dad had his second chemo treatment on Wednesday, so it wouldn't make much sense to feed him something he might not keep down let alone be able to fully enjoy.

ups

My friend's dad passed away yesterday....cancer plus he was in a wheel chair for the longest time. She's not dealing with it very well....best of luck to you and your dad, and family. She told me earlier, "Enjoy every moment you can with the ones you love for they can go any day"

I should be nicer to my folks....

Cold water is fine, actually better than warm, and considering the turkey will reach the point in which no bacteria can survive heatwise it is a moot point anyway.

Happy Turkey Day everyone, enjoy the holiday, the food and drink, your family and friends.......

Happy Thanksgiving!
We will be visiting my dad, mom and my b/f parents. three dinners! I am in heaven!

Thanksgiving 8000 calorie poem

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
and your pies take the prize,
and may your Thanksgiving dinner
stay off your thighs!
