You just haven't eaten any from someone who knows how to prepare it. Hell, most Americans think all varieties of chicken taste the same. Americans have more access to a larger variety of foods than most of the world and have never tried half of it. As a nation, we are so ignorant of food it's painful. Worse, we take pride in our ignorance and will sacrifice anything to the god of convenience.

I've eaten many varieties of turkey cooked by many people in many countries. Every time I've thought "meh, that's ok but I'd rather have pork/beef/chicken/insertmeatofyourchoicehere."
It's just not a great meat. I get the traditional side of things and that is a good reason to eat stuff but given a choice I'd rather have a slow roasted shoulder of pork every time!

Ever had wild turkey?
 
There are just so many of our feathered friends around. Chicken, ducks geese, turkey, grouse and quail not to mention, emu and ostrich and, the various breeds all taste different! I love eating different birds. Variety is the spice of life.

No turkey for me this year. I had some kind of street food consisting of beef, chorizo, cheese, fried plantain, and couple of other ingredients I didn't catch. It was alright but kinda salty. But the fresh guava and passion fruit drink was delicious.

Now I'm just chilling and people watching.

Explain!

I've only had two kinds: regular supermarket bland chicken, and decent farm from the chicken that actually tastes chicken-y. Kind of like homegrown tomatoes vs. store-bought flavorless tomatoes. Tell us more about different chicken flavors & varieties!

If it was me, I'd stay in the rv and live where I wanted. I'm pretty anchored here, but if I had spent time moving, I think I'd go full nomad. Another option is a tiny house. I passed one yesterday; from HomeDepot I think. Said it was the first one in the county. It wasn't so tiny. It was like the small houses of the 30s-50s era. Plenty of room if you don't hoard stuff. Might be a cheaper option than getting something used.

I could do that if I didn't have any tools. I'd be happy in an efficiency apartment otherwise.

I'd have to do some downsizing, but I think I could manage in a tiny house. Coupled with a shed, I could live in the smallest of tiny houses. Most of my stuff is small. I don't have much in the way of big floor mounted tools, and the ones I have, I don't use. They were my father's.

I used to buy these free range capons that were slaughtered the day before. You could get them fresh or frozen from my butcher. They were big, averaging 8lbs, and tasted great.

I’ve lobbied for selling our house, (done) selling the current RV, and selling my new pick-up, buying a BIGGER truck, (F-350 or F-450) and a nice bigger fifth wheel and snow-birding...but, I have way too much stuff. (tools and such) that I just don’t want to get rid of...and SHE has way too much crap that she’s sentimentally attached to) for that to work 😛 PLUS, as she’s reminded me...several times...we gypsied for 10 years when I was booming big construction jobs and lived in an 8x40’ travel trailer. She said, “are you out of your fucking mind? We aren’t EVER going to do that again!” 😎
