I laughed at the last line:

The last such day was five years ago, on Feb. 2, 2004, which coincided with Groundhog Day. The next is seven years away, on April 4, 2016.

No shit?

Well, seeing as they had to add this:
(for the mathematically challenged, three is the square root of nine).

Its pretty clear the article is geared towards really not math savvy people.

Just because your title says lifer doesn't mean that you can speak to me like that. We haven't voted yet.

The best part is that this is a universal day--unlike Pi Day where in most of the world it's 14/3..

We've got three numbers to play with - why not get all involved on 03/09/27?

I doubt I'm going to make it that long, and have to make some concessions :p

I wished all my students a happy square root day today. I think my favorite day was the last odd day for over a millenia. November 29, 1999

The guy would decided we should celebrate this must be one hell of a nerd.

Ridiculous. It's 2009... and 3 * 3 != 2009. Who decided that only the last two digits of the year count now?

The last real square root day happened 1865 years ago. 12/12/144. And never will there be another one.

:clock:

Intriguing.

Where can I buy your book?

The Gregorian Calendar is all screwed up and based on an estimated date anyway.
Dates are dumb.

We should just count upwards from the instant this post posts.
