Happy Mother's Day for those who celebrate the holiday today :)

Thanks, Zim Hosein . . . but you're a little too early. I'm not yet a mum! :Q ;) I'm just messing with you.

Happy Mother's Day to the mothers out there. Hopefully your kids all treat you well and appreciate you everyday, not just on Mother's Day.

I look forward to a luvly Mother's Day with my mum and siblings. Of course, that won't happen until I'm done practicing my walk tomorrow (still Sat at my coast). :D

Some of the best years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who was not my girlfriend.
She was my mother.

Thanks, Mom. :)

This has been M4H's Sensitive Post of the Month. Do not expect any more cheerfulness, sunshine or roses. Thank you.

My Mom gives me, my sisters, and my sister in law small but very thoughtful Mother's Day gifts every year, even my sister who decided not to have kids. Mom says it is because we are what have made being a mother/grandmother so wonderful for her.

And yes, she gives my brother a Father's Day gift too, for being a father to one of her grandchildren.

My mom is also very beloved among my coworkers, who used to be her coworkers... I've heard "Your mother is one of the best teachers I ever knew" many times since I went back to work.

Mom, I love you but dang, you are a hard act to follow! :p

So far I've had a leisurely day in bed...my honey got up with our 1 yr. old. He gave me a card and coffee in bed and turned on "While you were out". He's the best!

At 1 we are going out somewhere, not sure where, with his mom. Should be fun!:)

Happy mother's day to all you fellow moms out there!:)

:)

It's the little things that make life sweet. I wish I had a day like that! I got nothing, no sleeping in, no card, no coffee, just annoyance because I complained that the house hadn't gotten my wish: a clean house. And not an impossibly clean house, just a reasonably clean house, with made beds and vaccuumed floors would have been nice. At least he didn't mind that we went to visit my grandmother. She's going to be 98 this year, and I hadn't seen her in a couple of months. Making her happy made my day.

I had to work this morning, so I didnt get to see my wife when she got up.
I did however, take a little time to plant a bunch of beautiful flowers in 2 big pots out on the front porch. She painted these pots a year ago, and has had no luck growing any flowers from seeds.
Thought it would be nice to help her out a bit.

I had pretty good day so far! my daughter moved home from the dorm on friday so we're all here.. yay! came home with a 4.0 for the semester.. present enough! she had her first "specialty show" on school radio this morning (she went "away" to college 13 miles from home, so she can keep on playing radio all summer) so I got to spend my morning listening to my big baby be silly on the air. came back with her boyfriend and my husband made brunch, then we watched a movie that would normally have gotten a big veto by a full house (the butcher's wife).. mother's day is not without it's privileges! in theory he's going to cook dinner eventually.. but before star trek is over would be an unrealistic expectation! got a spontaneous hug and kiss from my son, a cats meow replica of the building across the street from my daughter's dorm this year/next door to where she'll live next year, from her, and a big lot of roses and assorted other flowers from my husband. good day.

have not found MY mother yet, though. my parents moved from their home they'd been in for 28 years into a condo (that's still bigger than my house! and.. my house is not *small*, it's just not BIG (2300sqft)) last month and when I reached for the phone to call mom a bit ago and realized that I couldn't, because I didn't know the number. they'd moved when I was 19, but they'd had that phone number since I was 4.. it's sad/weird to have to look up the number to call your mommy.. I should go try again..
