It won best animated feature of the year. So I gave it a go last night. I was feelin' it for the first hour or so, and then they had to go and turn it into a heavy handed environmentalist flick about how humans are killing all the penguins because we're fishing too much.

Why couldn't they have just stuck with the cute happy dancing and good looking animation?

anyways it was a pretty enjoyable film though the "message" did kill the latter half

I liked the first part and, while I do think it's ok to have a message, i found that it wasn't integrated into the story enough . it was a bit heavy handed.

But is it worth getting upset over, shouting "it's hippy propoganda?" Nah. Chill out and have a beer. Not everything with a message is propoganda.

I actually really liked the movie and found it rather moving--especially the scene where Mumble starts swimming off into the ocean.
