Ahh Quake, I grew up playing Quake 1, as it came out the year I was born. Quake one got me started as as a gamer...A age 5.😀
 
I graduated from college the same year Q1 was released. I didn't get a job for a a year and a half. I played a lot of Quake. My fondest video game memories ever come from Quake.

Balanced game play, rewarding control of key areas (armor, quad, spawn points etc), instant weapon swap = win!
 
I was still in the old country when it came out...Downloaded shareware at the local university and played on Pentium 60 through the night...
