Although now I've had my morning caffeine and am a bit more awake, If I upgrade his P3 800 to the T-Bird, then I could upgrade my Cely466@525 to the P3 800. 🙂

Nah, I believe in keeping it simple, I can just upgrade mine to the T-Bird. 😛 Hehe.

Two possibilities:

a) NO, the father is the older and more decrepit sort so he wouldn't be able to appreciate the extra speed that the Tbird would be able to provide over the P3, OR

b) YES, the father NEEDS the faster PC because the Tbird has to be able to support all the extra software and peripherals to provide for the infirmities suffered by the father.. screen enhancements for the failing eyes, a more robust sound system coupled with speach-synthesizer hardware and drivers for the deaf ears, voice-activation software to provide that 3rd-hand so he doesn't have to let go of his cane or walker, etc.

Sorry Ray, but I'm an advocate for children's rights for obvious reasons.😉 Mr. Fluffy deserves the faster machine on the grounds that he needs it to be able to constantly serve up Napster, all the while programming in C++, and playing FPSs.😛

PS Oh, and BTW Fluffy, I'm only charging a week of RC5 output for this endorsement.😉
 
I'm with ViRGE. My kids need all the horsepower playing games.
I could get by nicely with a 133 Pentium with a bunch of RAM and a decent ViRGE video card. 😉
