I've seen him on Later. The vocal/stylistic likeness to Freddy was the first thought that came to my mind. I suppose the song he sang making a reference to Freddy had something to do with it, too...

A few of his/Queen's best songs, IMO: Liar, Now I'm Here, Ogre Battle, Flick Of The Wrist, Death On Two Legs, et al.

By the way, if you want to catch Freddie's operatic style, look for the CD titled Barcelona; it's Freddie with the Spanish opera singer, Montserrat Caballe. One of a very limited selection of opera that I actually like.

Queen was an awesome band. Unbelievable. I agree with the others above, it's a true shame that Freddie passed before his time. :(
