He would have been 61 today.

Freddie was one of the best rock vocalists that ever was and he was a brilliant performer. Queen's songs are timeless and some of them still send shivers down my spine when I listen to them. So queue up some Queen tonight and raise a glass to one of the most original and talented people to ever grace the world with their music. :sun:

:music:

I'm burning through the skies Yeah!
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm trav'ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man of you

Don't stop me now I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time just give me a call
Don't stop me now ('Cause I'm having a good time)
Don't stop me now (Yes I'm having a good time)
I don't want to stop at all

One of my all-time favorite songs is his Under Pressure duet with David Bowie. RIP Freddie...

Happy birthday, Freddie.

In slightly related news Brian May is going to be defending his thesis for his PhD in astrophysics some time in the near future.

And if he'd made it to the late 1990's, with the medical advances now, he'd probably still be alive and singing.

My very first album (albeit an 8 track) was Queen's "News of the World". Made famous by We Will Rock You and We are the Champions, I never really liked those. I was all about Melancholy Blues and Sleepin' on the Sidewalk. I was in 6th grade :) Cassettes were the norm, but my Dad left the 8 track when he moved out some 6 years earlier and I found it in the basement.

RIP Freddie.

Top Gear named this song the #1 greatest driving song of all time.

I can't argue.

He already did and was awarded the degree.
